The Hayabusa comes stock with the hydraulic clutch engagement system. It can be said to be more suited for touring purpose as you will not run a risk of snapping the clutch cable while on a long distance trip and getting stranded there. Well, along with that you will have to adapt to a new way of feeling for the biting point if you are used to the clutch cable system.

The engagement does not feel as precise as the the cable system (although ideally with the imcompressible clutch fluid, it should deliver the same level of feel to the rider), sometimes it could be due to the fact the clutch fluid is hydroscopic and it absorbs moisture from some leaky seals thus changing it properties. The other issue would be air in the system, as air is compressible, it totally screws up the engagement point of the clutch.

The price may seem a bit steep, for that amount, you can easily purchase a set of Brembo clutch master cylinder and be happy with it. There's two inherent problem that the Hayabusa's stock clutch has. They are the weak sprocket cover that mounts the clutch slave unit, it tends to buckle under stress (even if you are not using heavy duty clutch springs). Also, as the clutch slave unit is mount right next to the front sprocket, it is exposed to the dirt, oil, sand and chain lube, and over time the seal that seals the piston will wear and you'll be left with a leaking clutch system. That's when the clutch engagement point starts going haywire.

So with that few considerations, this clutch conversion kit is up on my shopping list. :P
