Fast Throttle Mod

The main rationale behind this mod is that the stock busa throttle requires too much turn to achieve the full throttle. In a way it makes the bike more rideable to newer riders who may not be used to the power of a 1.3liter engine.

However once the rider gets used to the power delivery, he may find that he has to grab a huge handful of throttle to get into the power band. Thus there has always been a market out there to cater to such riders' needs. And comes the product - Fast throttle. Normally what a fast throttle does is that it reduces the amount of throttling action required to achieve full throttle. This is extremely useful when riding on track where you will need to grab a rather huge handful of throttle upon exiting the turn. ( Do not mistake grabbing a huge handful of throttle with snapping it open quickly.)

Often Fast throttles are not sold cheap. It can easily cost over 100 - 200 bucks. Thus when the dudes from SH.org found this mod, it makes it quite a worthwhile investment to get one at a fraction of the cost.

The mod simply requires the purchasing of a stock '04 R1 throttle tube and replacing the busa's. Straight off the feel is different and the bike will feel more powerful due the the greater throttling action. There's another version to this modification, which involves using the '06R6 throttle tube. The response of the R6's throttle will be even greater when compared to the R1's.
Thus the option remains open to suit the individual's needs.

Basic Reviews [Road Riding]
So far I've only tried the new throttle on local roads, heavy traffic and all, thus can't really tell how it rolls from closed to WOT. But the feel of the acceleration from the faster throttle opening action does justify its cost. But always bear in mind, when you go fast, you must be able to stop twice as fast safely.
